SSC Recruitment 2017 – Apply Online for Junior Engineer Posts

 Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has given an employment notification for the recruitment of Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical & Quantity Surveying and Contract) vacancies in various Organizations on regular basis. Eligible (Indian Citizens) candidates may apply online from 21-10-2017 to 17-11-2017. Age Limit: Candidates age should be 32 years for S.No-1, 2, 27 years for S.No-3, 30 years for Civil, Electrical & Mechanical, 27 years for Quantity Surveying and Contract S.No-4, 30 years for S.No-5 to 9 as on 01-01-2018. Age relaxation is applicable by 05 years for SC/ ST, 03 years for OBC, 10 years for PH candidates as per rules. For more information refer the notification.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have Degree or Diploma in Civil & Mechanical Engineering for S.No-1, Diploma in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering for S.No-2, 5, 9, Three years Diploma or equivalent in Civil Engineering for S.No-3, Degree in or Three years Diploma in relevant disciplines with Two years experience for S.No-4, Three years Diploma in civil, Electrical and Mechanical engineering or equivalent for post-6, Diploma in Civil, Electrical Engineering for post-7, Diploma in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering with 02 years experience for S.No-8 from a recognized University or Institute.

Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on computer based exam.

Application Fee: Candidates are required to pay RS. 100/- through SBI challan/ SBI Net banking or through credit/ debit cards of any bank. No fee for All women candidates, SC, ST & PH candidates.

2. Select the desired post & read all the notification
3. Click on Apply—–> JE
4. Click on “Click Here to Apply”—–>”Register”.
5. Fill all the details & submit the form.

SSC JE Exam Pattern 

The paper pattern for paper 1 and 2 of SSC Junior engineer has been announced by SSC along with the official notification. The Exam Pattern for each stage of SSC JE is different. Paper 1 is an objective computer based test while paper 2 is descriptive. The overview of exam pattern for each stage is as given below.

SSC JE Syllabus 

The syllabus of SSC Junior engineer 2018 is based on the exam pattern and section included in the stage. The subjects for each stage of JE 2018 will vary from each other and the candidates will be required to prepare for the examination as per the syllabus of SSC JE issued by the commission. Candidates can check the syllabus for paper 1 as given below.

General Intelligence & ReasoningThe syllabus for General Intelligence includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test may include questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series etc.

General Awareness: Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him/her and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person.

General Engineering (Civil and Structural), (Electrical & Mechanical)

  • Part-A– Civil Engineering Building Materials, Estimating, Costing and Valuation, Surveying, Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics, Irrigation Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering. Structural Engineering: Theory of Structures, Concrete Technology, RCC Design, Steel Design.

  • Part-B– Electrical Engineering Basic concepts, Circuit law, Magnetic Circuit, AC Fundamentals, Measurement and Measuring instruments, Electrical Machines, Fractional Kilowatt Motors and single phase induction Motors, Synchronous Machines, Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Estimation and Costing, Utilization and Electrical Energy, Basic Electronics.

  • Part-C Mechanical Engineering– Theory of Machines and Machine Design, Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials
